Civic Plaza
Rockwood is a small town located in Gresham, East of Portland and composed of homogenized townhomes and various trailer parks. It has a considerably high crime rate existing within a greatly diverse community. For this project, we were really trying to make Rockwood become a center of connectivity and activities with hopes that it would better the current social and economic conditions.We have provided amenities that the community here desires such as public library, grocery store and rec center. We also created a model live work alley that will hopefully create social interaction. And last but not least, we have decided to redesign Rockwood in such a way that there will have greater synergy amongst uses by integrating in parks and walkable sidewalks.
