This fellow is the dominant wolf (Canis lupus) in this pack. He would socialize with the wolves well, but there was obvious hierarchical understanding within the group. This photo was taken at the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota. The animals are inside of a large physical fence. Camera work is thru clear plastic walls. The animals seem to be well managed and healthy. The animals have come to the facility thru different processes that prohibits there being returned to the Wild.
