Orobanche hederae - Ivy Broomrape, yellow form 1c
Ivy Broomrape, Orobanche hederae, growing on the verge of Garnier Road, Winchester, Hampshire. This is the less common yellow form. Without the internet, I would have failed to identify it as my key to broomrapes fails to mention that this species has a yellow form. I would have been quite unable to cope with it not having a purple stem, despite the fact that it didn't seem to fit any of the other species descriptions.
As I've not found many examples of this pictured on the net, I have posted a lot of photos - you're welcome to use them. Sadly the light wasn't great on either of the days I went with my camera.
