Askham Oil Supplies, Ullswater Filling Station, Glenridding, Cumbria, June 2015
Ullswater Garage's webpage is still online, but as Chris notes in the photo in the comments, it closed around 2018 and had been demolished by the 2022 Streetview goo.gl/maps/vudtHy5TdwDkSfCP7 (although leaving the house behind the garage).
In 1996 (see photo below), it was a small BP outlet with a unusually small pole sign, probably for planning permission reasons given the location (at the southern end of Ullswater). The sign proclaimed "Last Petrol Before M6" going north, which was probably true at the time if one followed the A592 towards Penrith, although in 2000 the heavily landscaped Rheged Services (also with a small pole sign, initially Total and later Esso) opened goo.gl/maps/6FZ55mQmiKBwCtVa8
Just visible in my blurry 1996 photo are the 1980s BP-style Unleaded and Diesel stickers on the pumps, in the "Alpha BP" font designed by Adrian Frutiger in 1968. I don't know whether the garage changed to National like many of the small sites BP supplied in the late 90s/early 2000s, but by 2009 (Streetview: goo.gl/maps/S7pJvLGtTBSEZsH77 ) as seen in my 2015 photos here, the garage was branded with the logo of Askham Oil Supplies, a local company, formerly Askham Motor Services and before that Lowther & District Agricultural and Motor Services, founded in 1959. I don't know how many petrol outlets they supplied (the brand is missing from Forecourt Trader's Catalist listings from this era) but they appear to have been a Texaco distributor.
Askham Oil Supplies (as the company became) was bought by Bayford & Co (Bayford Energy) in 2006, with the original owners buying back the agricultural equipment part of the business. And when Bayford's oil businesses were scooped up by GB Oils / DCC (later Certas Energy) in 2009, the Askham Oil Supplies name became part of the giant DCC empire.
