Messier 37

Messier 37 in the constellation of Auriga.

Shot last night from my garden using a Meade LX90 8" SCT, f/6.3 focal reducer, ATIK414ex mono CCD, using Baader LRGB filters.

This was tricky to image, not because it's 4,500 light years away, but because bank, after bank of cloud rolled in, frustrating given that it was "predicted" to be clear all night.

First time I have managed to even get a hint of star colour from a cluster - practice and processing improvements needed, but this is my first "star-centric" image taken with a mono CCD.

Very little data to, thanks to those clouds:

Lx10, Rx9, Gx11, Bx14 - each 240s in length.
