CRLT Players @ Columbia

by CCNMTL

On October 27-28, the University of Michigan's nationally renowned CRLT Players delivered three high-energy interactive performances that engaged students, faculty, staff, and administrators in dialogues about diversity, inclusive teaching and learning, mentoring / advising, academic integrity, and time management in higher education. “7 Into 15” featured a series of short sketches that helped the audience consider issues of diversity and inclusion as a community. The “Great Expectations” sketch explored common tensions that arise between advisors and their advisees, and explored the strengths and weaknesses of different mentoring approaches. Following each performance, Dr. Sara Armstrong, Artistic Director of the CRLT Players, facilitated rich discussions in which she encouraged participants to not only reflect on their experiences of the topics addressed in the sketches but also think of specific actions they can take to bring about change on campus.
