#3 - Trois Cent Zentas
In the years preceding the island's self declaration upon the world stage, this seeming tropical paradise had been subjected to the ruinous dictatorship of a repressive tribal military leader. The aging dictator in a dying act of idiosyncratic benevolence opened communication to the outside world, re-purposed the army and it's resources and sentenced himself to death for crimes against humanity. The island people quickly organised elections and voted the death row president to interim prime minister. The congress reverted his death penalty to a life sentence.
He now serves the republic from a tiny bamboo cage suspended from a seaside coconut tree.
