Relief work after the First World War

As Europe began to recover from the effects of the First World War, the Save the Children Fund responded to new emergencies arising elsewhere. The Fund fed thousands of refugees after the Greco-Turkish War of 1919-1922 and provided 157 million rations during the Russian famine of 1921-1923. As early as 1920, the charity was also turning its attention to children in need in the United Kingdom.
