Swift at Titchwell, crop 5 of 8

Canon EOS 5D MK2 and Canon 100 - 400 IS lens

I unexpectedly found myself with a free 90 minutes at Titchwell yesterday. As has been the case a lot in this dire spring the weather was grey, overcast, dull and cold.

Standing on the West Bank path I indulged in my annual attempt to try and get a passable picture of a Swift in flight.

My technique is to crank up the ISO setting to get a fast shutter speed, over expose, manual focus is probably better than aoutfocus with the 5D MK2, pick up the birds as they come towards you so that you can focus with them as they get closer and then fill up your memory card.

I think that I got some ok shots given the low light, but still not clinched a real professional properly exposed pin sharp image.

As ever I'd be interested in your feedback on these images and which if any work for you.
