He who bows, wows.

He who speaks, sows; he who listens, reaps--Argentine Proverb.

Be a good listener, your ears will never get you in trouble. Jiffy is the good listener dog our pack adores. The ball-playing, fun-loving Rottweiller mix is the pressure relief valve for Fox's overhyped verbal reflex.

Fox is adjusting to the new home and new pack, but still doesn't know how to meet and greet stranger dogs. Growing up running wild, talking doggy trash to the other wild dogs--well, Mr. Fox is in need of some retraining in canine etiquette.

But Jif doesn't care--he just wants to play ball. In fact, when Fox and Coco really start laying it on--Jif just smiles. "If speaking is silver, then listening is gold," say the Turks. Besides, a barking dog can't hold a ball in its mouth, or steal a ball, either.

My training plan for Fox involves getting playdates with easy-going, energetic, non-violent dogs, who will help me tire him out, blunt his youthful enthusiasm. It's Life coming full-circle, really--because years ago, when Jiffy was an unruly, undisciplined guy who couldn't be trusted off the leash, Chloe (Fox's predecessor) was his dogpark mentor. Another good example of how the pack raises it's own.
