Hummingbird Hawk Moth - Macroglossum stellatarum

Back out today with a different set-up, A Nikon D7000 and a Sigma 150-500mm which, due to the crop factor , gave me a long focal length of around 700mm.I doubled the shutter speed I used yesterday to stop the wing movement, unfortunately, the little sods weren't playing and an added problem was a very gusty cross wind, so not many keepers.

The whole kit was not designed for this type of work but it let "reach" to the back of the nectaring shrubbery without having to enter the Brambles at the front, they tore my calf to bits yesterday....
