There are two main types of swan migrating to the UK during the Autumn - Bewick Swans fly in from Siberia while Whooper Swans come from Iceland. Looking at the colouring of the beak I think these two are Whooper Swans - but I am open to correction on this! They were taken at Martin Mere WWT site at Burscough in Lancashire. As you can see, the day was very overcast with not much light.

Apart from cropping the photo is 'as taken'.
