salvaged out a touchscreen element and a controller, from a 12in lcd that was scrapped. made small program to read in the touch location, and interpret as 3 rows for 3 colors, and set the led brightness for each color. using: elo resistive touch element (below the calculator), elo serial touch controller (not into new usb stuff yet); max233 level converter (1 cap only); 68hc11 on microstamp11 from technologicalarts.com; maxim max6957 spi i/o / led driver; and a tricolor smt led on a surfboard. also using a usb-ser (ttl) converter for programming the micro from pc. converter is a nice tool, chip by ftdi, in dlp-usb232m module, from mouser.
