Legananny Dolmen Gate (2010) 8713b
A distinctive custom-made metal gate at the entrance to a farm, just beside Legannany Dolmen. The gate incorporates an artistic representation of the dolmen's silhouette.
Legananny Dolmen is an iconic megalithic structure found on the slopes of Slieve Croob, some 3 miles north of Castlewellan in County Down.
It stands at approx 1.8m high, and is around 5000 years old.
It sits on the side of a country lane.
I took these pictures during a visit in the summer of 2010. Typically the drizzle was coming in and the light was going.
