Me.

All these years that I have been on flickr (about five, to be precise), I have never posted a picture of myself. Somehow, it scared me the fact of exposing myself, the fact of lending my image to the unknown world that internet is. However, I have been lingering a lot about this fear, and I realized it was nonsense. Specially if I consider the person I want to become. Someone significant, someone who outstands because of ideas: a writer, a photographer, a critic, a blogger, a visual artist. Though there are threats out there, just like in the streets, I can't just stay locked inside my house, inside my brain, inside my creativity.

I used to be a very active flickr user about three years ago. But because of some issues, I lost contact with all the beautiful people I had met here, and with photography. However, I plan to bring my flick back to life.

It is going to be difficult as I have a huge lack of time. However, I will try, and I will try to be proactive as well in all the other projects that I already have, and also the ones that I have in mind.

This picture will be like a symbol of commitment with myself.

About the picture, I would like to give some credits to Lexi. Though I am not very active on flickr, I have still been browsing through a lot of flickr galleries, among the ones was Lexi's. Her photography, and specially her self portraits have always inspired me. However, as you may infer from what I said at the beginning, I had lots of difficulties with self portraits. I wrote her an e-mail, expressing my admiration of her work and for a little bit of self portrait advice. She was incredibly kind, and her words definitely touched me. Her e-mail worked as some kind of milestone in my creative path. And here I am. I answered that I was going to try self portraits, and here I am. Thank you for the encouragement you were for taking this decision, which may sound silly, but is important for me.

I have a blog, but I write mostly in Spanish: catacronopio.blogspot.com and I also have a tumblr: sopaipillasconchancaca.tumblr.com
