My Handmade Little Mermaid Stands (part 7)
Currently I only have this one stand in this photo (I usually like to photograph them in groups of four). Ursula got to start another photo...hopefully there will be more to keep hers company in the future. Anyways, I got my doll in late 2024 at Big Lots when they were running their store closing sales. I planned to make her a stand as soon as I got my lady. She doesn't sit well at all...she has an awkward gait and she's cheaply made which doesn't help. I decided to wait a little white so I had a small batch of stands to make at once, rather than just two or three. I didn't construct this until the summer of 2025. She has a really cool outfit (albeit very poorly made). I was inspired by the blue designs on her gown. That's why I chose this color for the base of the stand. Then I used purple for the lettering, to compliment the main color of her ensemble. As for the shells and squiggles, these were inspired by her necklace. It has a ton of beautiful detail, so I wanted to reference it on her stand. It's not an exact replica, but I used elements from it to adorn the front of Ursula's stand.
