atchafalaya, east bound, west bound...
First day of 2019 and managed to stop in Texas and Louisiana for a couple of photo opportunities.
Atchafalaya Basen Bridge has and exit and visitors center with a public boat launch which is where I took this picture from. I really wanted to stop on the shoulder of the bridge and get a picture of all the Cypress trees in the bay and swaps, so temping, but it's just barely wide enough to get off the road in a semi. So I decided to stay safe and see what I could see from the visitor center/rest area/boat launch.
I stopped and talked to a local guy that was about to leave after going out on this boat for a day of fishing. Told him I wanted to get some pictures of the Cypress trees. He said if he hadn't already put his boat away he'd gladly have given me a ride out. I told him thanks, appreciate the thought.
Anyway, like always we make do with the opportunities presented. Just before I headed back to the truck and couple arrived and took some pictures with their phones. I offered to use their phone to take a picture of them as they were taking a selfie.
I also took a picture of them with my camera and just emailed it a few minutes ago. Almost the same as this shot but with them looking away.
Ahhh, heck might as well add a link with the couple. Otherwise might never get around to posting it.
