Decatur Waterworks, amazing graffiti, Mason Mill Park, DeKalb County, Georgia 19

The Decatur Waterworks is located near the confluence of Burnt Fork Creek and South Fork Peachtree Creek. The waterworks were abandoned in the 1950's. They are now within Mason Mill Park. A few years ago vandals were starting to spray paint the structures. I actually contacted the county parks department about it and one seemed to care. I was even there one day when some teenagers were actively spray painting. I called the police and they came. When the officer learned he was going to have to walk through the woods to the site he, "I will just report it to the parks department". Oh well, I tried. Back in the fall, I visited the ruins again. The abandoned building became the pallet for some very talented street artist. I woke up this morning, still stranded by the winter storm, and hiked to the park. I was amazed at the art covering the buildings. For more information: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decatur_Waterworks
