Walk This Way

As threatened, a few more from the same walk yielding yesterday's photo in collage form. The top two from the only surfaced road leading to my house, this offering a number of dirt roads and trails to explore as in the lower two. After 9+ years of walking the area, I know most of them. However, somehow the familiarity has never led to contempt, disproving the old adage...at least as it relates to nature. As for the subject of its initial intent, people, that may be a different story.

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian friends. I was wondering if perhaps PM Trudeau might consider a peaceful takeover of your southern neighbor. Today is Columbus Day in the US, something which like everything else is now cause for debate and protest. Forget that the history is "fake news," the problem is that celebration of this is now apparently racist. Everything, of course, is now racist. There are people who in addition to tearing down monuments to the Confederacy, would also get rid of the Washington and Jefferson memorials in Washington and blow up Mount Rushmore. In fact, I heard a Black Lives Matter leader pronounce categorically that "if you're white, you're racist." Hmmm. Our nation has clearly become completely unhinged on every little issue. We can't even watch a sporting event anymore without front page controversy. It's insane, getting worse, and not solely because of Trump. The media simply avoids coverage of the crazies on other side. On second thought, M. Trudeau, a hostile takeover would be good as well....and provide a happy Thanksgiving for us next month. ;-))

[I initially had laid this out horizontally but a quick check showed the cube to allow a larger individual look if you are so inclined.]
