Heading Out
I love to watch pelicans. Whether they are perched, flying, swimming or diving – it doesn’t matter as I can watch them for hours. They are also great for “target practice,” an expression I use for improving my shots of birds in flight. They fly very steadily, typically in a straight line. They don’t move real fast, either, so its fairly straightforward to get a good auto focus lock on them.
I like the splash of color at the tip of this one’s bill – it really pops against the background sky.
