Avenida México 107 - vale la pena

Originally an apartment house, the building at Avenida México 107 in the Hipodrómo neighborhood of Mexico City is now a hotel called Casa Malí by Dominion.

Built in 1932, its architect is unknown but it is typical of the buildings in the Hipodrómo area facing Parque México. As Marisol Flores García observes in her book Guía de recorridos urbanos de la colonia Hipódromo, “the large number of trees that surrounds it makes it difficult to appreciate this architectural work (la gran cantidad de árboles que la rodea hace que sea difícil apreciar esta obra arquitectónica),” but as the saying goes in Spanish, vale la pena (it’s worth the effort).
