Corridor Backwards

Played backwards, this piece encapsulates the metaphor of process. The lines symbolise the claim of uncharted territory, almost a colonisation of space.

The process involved taking a thick pencil and using it to chart the process of walking down a long corridor, backwards and forwards, over a period of four weeks. This was an examination of tedium and repetition, fruitless movement through an an anonymous, shared space, literally making my indelible mark. Covering the markings with crudely nailed on off cuts of wood represented secrecy and concealment, a personal journey partially hidden from view, evoking intrigue and enigma.
