DeLorean DMC-12
Interesting find in the parking lot of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Immortalized by the "Back to the Future" films, this stainless-steel-bodied gullwing-door machine was John Z. DeLorean's effort at building his own sports car, pitched at the Porsches and Corvettes of the day. Construction was undertaken in Belfast on the back of British government grants. Unfortunately the whole project came tumbling down after just a few years with DeLorean himself involved in an FBI drug sting.
