29/52: Weakness

This is my friend Jess and her son Tanner. Tanner is 5 - one year older than Alexander. I remember meeting Tanner.... he didn't walk or talk or sit. *you know the drill*

Our sons' syndrome define our lives in so many ways. Tanner has defied the odds. 2 years ago he learned to sit. He learned to eat. Last year he learned to walk with a walker and now he dances... even alone.

Weakness: we both feel it. For our sons. For ourselves. Can we be the parent we need to do? Is my child strong enough to overcome his genetic deletion?

This photo is my grasp of weakness. They both say "yes" .... I can be the parent I need to be and "yes" he can overcome his obstacles. They give me hope in my moments of weakness. Others give her hope.

We both have hope for strength. Our weaknesses will not define us.
