Freeze Dry Granulated Glass
A micrograph image of a generalised glass granulate produced using freeze dry granulation. This process involves the atomisation of a nanopowder suspension and mixing in liquid nitrogen. After sublimation, a porous glass granulate is produced, which is then gently sintered. The resulting granulate is then capable of absorbing drugs and other active ingredients as a vehicle for controlled release applications.
