That was true fun for my blind father:
Each time a feast was up in our village they came and begged him to come and play the piano at the feast...
He always was pleased to join such occasions (right opposite to my mom's opinion. :-)
Knowing the entire range of the modern musik of that time, he played it all: from Boogie Woogie to old folk songs - from the modern pop songs and fancy walzes and dances to carnival songs - he just played.
Each time someone shouted the name of a song to him - he played it - no matter what it was.
And... if he started to become thirsty, he played the famous German song: "Geb'n Se dem Mann am Klavier noch ein Bier..." (translation: Give a beer to the man playing the piano...) and he was served with at least one.... or two... or five...
.... NO WONDER that mother didn't like his attending the feasts........*grin!
