Operation Heavy Hammer (42)
The Task Force was assigned to assault a village near the Ligeria-Nagonia border to capture or eliminate Hadir Sulaman and Omar Hassan, the masterminds behind the ambush and killing of four Victorian special operations forces operators.
The assault team launched at night aboard two Pave Hawk helicopters. Just before dawn, they reached the landing zone (LZ) several kilometers from the village. From there, the team patrolled toward the village without incident.
Once overwatch was established, the assault team immediately initiated the assault on the village.
