Open Window to a Desert Morning

I love the play of light and shadows in this north-facing window. I'm slowly bringing plants to this windowsill. I know that three will fit, but I like to see Tucson's Catalina mountains when the sliding window is open. That limits me to two plants that like subdued light. This is a winter cactus. It won't bloom again until fall. Orchids are used to growing up on tree branches in a rainforest's shady canopies. I think I will look for a small orchid when I am brave enough to go out to a nursery or to Trader Joe's.

What I need is to get up on a ladder outside this window and do some old fashioned window washing. That won't work. I am a little too old to climb ladders safely. Fortunately, I have an aide. Now I just have to remember! Lol...;-)
