Docent Engineer At The Controls
Gene Anderson has been working in Steam Locomotives all his adult life. I believe he said in Oregon. Now he is a volunteer docent at the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum in Tucson, Arizona.
I don't remember why this more complete control panel was outside of the engine itself...
As a young boy, I often walked down to the Pennsylvania Railroad tracks near my home to get as close to the trains going by as possible. I love any kind of locomotive. Later, when I had children, I took my fifth child, a boy to the switching yard in Salem Massachusetts. Engineers often invited us up into the engines. They were diesel electrics
