U. S. Military Family life, Honolulu, 1940.

From 1939 - 1941 my father was stationed at Pearl Harbor, although our family lived off base in Honolulu. My mom is on the right with me, an obviously well fed one year-old. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, my mom and I returned to the U.S. mainland for the duration of WW II. Our return from Hawai'i was aboard the Matson Lines S.S. Lurline.
