Mission Espada is part of the Mission Trail National Park in San Antonio, Texas. It is one of five missions on the trail. The others are Mission Alamo, Mission Concepcion, Mission San Jose, and Mission San Juan on the trail along the San Antonio River in Texas. The trail is about 15 miles long connected by bike, hiking and jogging paths with about 2 1/2 miles between the missions. Mission San Francisco de la Espada was founded in 1690 moved to current location in 1731. The Mission Trail has a dedicated bus line. The trail follows the San Antonio River. Mission Concepcion is just one of the five missions. It was completed in 1731 and is a U.S. National Historic Landmark as are the other missions located on the trail. The Mission Alamo is also on this trail. The missions on this trail are a UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
