For this textile sample and textile sample 1 I was given a brief based on the word 'sandwich' I ended up focusing on squashed metals, scrap metals and junk yards. After finding a main idea I looked further into the wheels of quashed or scraped cars. This is where the circles came from. The colours came from the rusted cars. For ‘Textile samples’ I have cut holes into tracing paper and then used the heat gun to create the old rusted look and sewed that onto dyed brown cotton by sewing over the holes creating this web effect. On ‘Textiles sample 1’ I have dyed to sheets of fabric and torn one of them into strips, sewing them onto the other and then burning it with the pyro pen creating the small burnt holes.
