~ How the Bleeding Heart Flower got it's Name.. A Tale....... ~
Once upon a time, there lived in a great kingdom a beautiful princess named Flower. Princess Flower was indeed gorgeous but she was also very vain. People came from everywhere to admire her, and all the fine gentlemen in the kingdom begged for her hand in marriage. The princess scoffed at all of them!
One young man cleverly decided that showering the princess with expensive gifts would win her heart and hand in matrimony. The first gift he brought to the palace was a pair of pink bunnies but the princess just laughed at him. He was sad but not deterred for surely an even better present would win her heart and hand in matrimony! He traveled the world and back to bring her a pair of exquisite, rare oriental slippers, but this in addition, she rebuffed.
This broke the man’s heart and he promptly drew his dagger, and plunged it through his heart (ouch)!
The princess realizing that she really did love him after all fell to her knees sobbing. To this day, her heart bleeds for him.
