It's not that I don't like Italian.
A J of Harvest Cyclery www.harvestcyclery.com/ brought along a pair of wonderfully made vintage Italian bikes to the Copake Swap yesterday that illustrate exactly why my default is always to the vintage French. These two lovely machines give away nothing to the French in terms of style or in the craft of their builders, but they are purpose built as racers and would be utterly inadequate for my idea of daily use in the real world as would virtually all the vintage Italians that I see. That said, they are beautiful to behold. This one is a Giuncadelli.
