Inktober 2022 Day 28: Keith

When you look at an iceberg

You only see a bit

If you could see beneath the sea

You’d see much more of it

We only know what eyes can see

We rarely look below

So I’ll share with you a secret fact

That others just don’t know

You may walk in the countryside

And often you’ll see ponds

With a little island in

With grass and shrubs and fronds

And on the little Island live

Bugs and birds and things

You’ll often see them sitting there

You’ll often hear them sing

So now the secret is revealed

About this mini heath

There’s something greater living there

And it lives underneath

When no one’s looking something moves

It is the island hill

But look again and you’ll not see

And all will be quite still

But if you could look when it moves

And peer right underneath

You’d see a spotted secret

And that secret’s name is……. Keith…

(Yes, he’s not very pleased about that. He always wanted a more exotic name…)
