Inktober 2022 Day 24: Absentminded

What did I come here for?

I’m struggling to recall

There must reasons why I came

But my brain just won’t install

 

(Last night I found the TV

Remote, with the dog’s food

I don’t think that the dog was pleased

When her dog bowl she viewed)

 

Now I’m at the village shop

But what to buy? Who knows?

I’m sure that I’ve got bread at home

And I don’t need more of those …..(looks at the potatoes)

 

Have I got my key with me?

Did I lock the door?

And did I leave the gas on?

(I did that once before)

 

Yes, the key is in my pocket

My purse is in my hand

But I’m blowed what I came here for

It’s hard to understand

 

There must be something that I need

Or something that I’ve missed

Hang on though, look what I’ve found

I’ve got my shopping list!

 

Ah…chocolate and wine….That’s what I needed!
