Inktober 2022 Day 20: The Seed Packet

I’m not quite sure what’s happened

Or quite how it occurred

It’s not what I expected

The outcome’s quite absurd

 

The packet was a ‘bonus’ one

‘Especially for me!’

(Though I’ve only ordered once

It seems I’m ‘VIP’)

 

The label on the seed packet

It seems I misconstrued

‘Twas only in the small print

(Which I really should have viewed)

 

It stated clear ‘Green Fingers’

I thought that it meant me

I didn’t think ‘twas literal

But that’s now plain to see

 

The plant I wanted was compact

Not too big for my plot

Nothing more than ‘two feet tall’

And that is what I got!

 

I’m debating ‘should I keep it?’

Or should I it dispose?

But my wife says it, must be retained

She rather likes the toes
