Inktober 2022 Day 8: The Wrong Side of the Hills
I struggled to come up with anything for this artwork by Andrea, then this ditty wrote itself so fast that I had trouble keeping up with the typing! I hope it might make you smile. Especially if you are a certain colour of rose......:
I only went and done it
Though I know I shouldn’t ought
But I just could not resist it
I didn’t give much thought
I really didn’t think it through
I should have stopped and planned
But I’m always too impetuous
It’s getting out of hand
I knew, soon as I said it
I knew, that it was wrong
I knew, I shouldn’t done it
I knew, the bloke was strong
I said I could determine
Just from the way he spoke
I’d say just where he came from
This big and hairy bloke
I said he was a Yorkshireman
God’s County was his home
I said there’s nowhere like it
And he’d never want to roam
But I really got it wrong again
For that I got no thanks
He said he’s born in Harrop Fold
And that’s in bloomin’ Lancs!
(Apparently these chaps are very sensitive if you get the wrong side of the Pennines…..)
