D23 Designer Mulan and Li Shang Doll Set - Deboxing - Plastic Backing Freed - Full Rear View

Deboxing D23 Mulan and Li Shang. After the covers are removed, the backing cardboard is opened by cutting the tape along the left and right edges. Inside you can see the tape and various wires and plastic tags securing various parts to the backing. Then the main backing cardboard is freed from the outer layers of the backing, and folded down. There is a plastic divider, then a second cardboard backing holding the battle flag. Then the plastic divider is freed from the second backing. Then the second backing cardboard is freed, with the battle flag still attached. The dolls are still attached to various plastic supports, and to the built in display stands.

Detailed photos of the D23 Expo exclusive Disney Designer Collection Mulan and Li Shang Limited Edition Doll Set. I got it second hand, but NIB, for a great price from a fellow collector on July 16, 2017, two days after it was released in the Expo. It is #451 of 523.

Mulan and Li Shang are in their warrior outfits, and there is also a battle flag in the background that is a separate prop. There is also a Mushu figure on Mulan's shoulder. The outfits and accessories of both dolls are impressively detailed. I think this is the best Designer set produced this year. It is too bad that it is a D23 exclusive, and with an edition size of only 523, the lowest of any Designer set this year.
