Ryōan-ji
Ryōan-ji: cycled to Kyoto's Temple of the Dragon at Peace.
It is famed for its dry landscape rock garden, the first Zen garden in Japan (15thC).
An article in Nature asserts that the arrangement of stones and empty space is symetrical and visually pleasing. Any other arrangement would not have the meditative properties. Just 15 rocks and white gravel.
