October - A Murmur in the Trees... π
A Murmur in the Trees β to note β
Not loud enough β for Wind β
A Star β not far enough to seek β
Nor near enough β to find β
A long β long Yellow β on the Lawn β
A Hubbub β as of feet β
Not audible β as Ours β to Us β
But dapperer β More Sweet β
A Hurrying Home of Little Men
To Houses unperceived β
All this β and more β if I should tell β
Would never be believed β Emily Dickinson
I remember sitting in class one day⦠it was October 1997, and suddenly, it dawned on me that October is the most beautiful and romantic month of the year! Every year before October comes, I always think that that feeling has gone away, but then I get dressed for fall and go outside, and there it is, that teenage infatuation waiting for me just outside the door of October first!
