Darn those white roofs! They had a go in Bolton at trying to increase the economy of this Dommie. They dropped the accelerator pedal. But they didnt adjust or disconnect the connection to the gearbox. When new, the harder you pressed the gas pedal, the higher the speed the gearbox changed up. But I drove this earlier in the day, you had to press the pedal right down to try and get power from it, but that told the gearbox to stay in gear. The only way to get it to change was to release the pedal. BANG and the gearbox would then change, but not under load as designed. They had converted it into an absolute cripple with no power. Eventually the gearbox blew up. Was told £11,000 for a new one. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. So here we have the very rare sight of a Dommie with a queue of traffic behind!
