Developed by Guy Motors, Wolverhampton, the front engine Wulfrunian was powered by a Gardner 6LXB engine, most were bodied by Charles. H. Roe.
A prototype vehicle was loaned to West Riding, who used the bus for extensive testing and evaluation on various routes. The company placed an order for the Guy chassis all with Roe bodywork, in 137 Wulfrunians were built. But despite the best endeavors of the West Riding company. Most of these buses were replaced by older buses in the West Riding fleet, seeing most off by the early 1970's.
Here preserved 970, which was the last Wulfrunian operated by West Riding. Sports the red tramways livery and has been undergoing a major restoration across the years. Finally after 40 years 970 carried its first passengers in service, between Dewsbury and Ravensthorpe.
