This was my very first stop after leaving Nairobi Airport which by the way is an international airport with all the same amenities/safety,food toilets ect as any other. Customs sucked though as it is run by Nairobi staff and lacks a certain need for efficiency and speed getting folks through in a timely manner.

Now back to my first stop. It was Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge where upon entering the compound I found the most luxurious lodge ever. (Sopa Lodge) Which I stayed in almost exclusively. It was like entering a wildlife reserve with this lodge setting right in the middle of wild animals. Which IS exactly the case. It was magnificent, and had these monkeys with little ones all over. Plus many, many more animals to marvel at and get images of. There is a lake very near by which Hippos live and come out of that lake at night onto the grounds.

Because I came in with a big lens security noticed that and awakened me in the middle of the night to take pictures. I ran out forgetting my flash equipment and upon returning set up this time the Hippo was behind a clump of trees and it was just too dangerous to try any further. You MUST be with security to do this as it IS quite dangerous. The Hippo is the most dangerous animal in Africa. And just the week before a Taiwanese man was killed getting to close for a cell phone image.
