Common Cuckoo
The fascination we have for this species is pretty much the same for raptors. Raptors demolish other birds yet we seem to hold them in such high esteem. The cuckoo's existence implies the death of another birds chicks but when you think about the number of letters and pen pals serial killers receive in incarceration for instance, it all seems to add up.
This shot was taken on a reed bed with an abundance of warblers, reed bunting and wrens. All I can say is this summer some little bird will be feeding a giant baby. Let the deception begin!
