Fagaras Citadel, Romania

Fagaras stands on the edge of the Carpathian mountains and near the famous Transfagarasan highway. The town itself has little to offer being mainly communist era apartment blocks but features the Citadel which is well worth a visit. A decent a cheap hotel near the citadel make it a good overnight stop.
