Soundquartet

(Thomas Bjelkeborn, Olle Oljud & Slim Vic)

 

The Sound Quartet perform in concerts with laptops, wii-controller, motioncontrol, neuroheadset, 3D navigator, gadgets, instruments, video and vj-ing. The pieces they play are for solo, duo, trio or quartet and is often composed by Thomas Bjelkeborn (SE) and Philippe Moenne-Loccoz (FR) who are the directors for the Sound Quartet. A main part of the work for the ensemble is projects with various musicians that is associated to the quartet: Frøya Dahlø (NO), Josep Lluise Galiana (ES), Gregorio Jimenez (ES), Johan Sundberg (SE) and Olle Åberg (SE). Also very important is the cooperation with Viktor Zeidner(SE) and Michael Larsson (SE) on visuals. The following have appared as guests at various concerts: Edith Alonso (ES), Julian Bonequi (MX), Nina de Heney (SE),Anthony Maubert (FR), Mark Pilkington (UK), Koray Tahiroglu (T) and Per Ålund (SE),

 

Olle "Oljud" Åberg.

Bor i Gävle. Arbetar med konst, musik, film,

dans/performance, formgivning etc. Som Olle Oljud arbetar jag med mestadels improviserade fragment fogade till en enda röra av ljud, ofta ambient och ibland en stenhård vägg av distorsion.

Även diverse samarbeten i konstellationer som t.ex. Chaos Pals, Origami Gotlandika, Oljud i ren panik,

Soundquartet, Sundberg & Åberg Duo.

Studier på IDKA, Gävle samt Gotlands tonsättarskola.

Viktor "Slim Vic" Zeidner

Bakom namnet Slim Vic döljer sig audiovisualartisten och

konceptskaparen Viktor Zeidner från Gävle. Slim är kanske mest känd som DJ och grundare av visualteamet Deadpixel, men också ständigt aktuell med olika konsert och klubbarrangemang.

Som DJ har han varit aktiv sedan 90-talet och spelat på bl.a Arvikafestiven, Dasboot, Norbergfestivalen, warmup åt bl. a Ian Carey, Henrik B, Familjen m.fl. Musiken är oftast karaktärsfylld house och disco som mixas både snabbt och med en knivskarp precision.

Som VJ har han spelat på festivaler och konserter runt om i europa som resident åt flera elektronikaakter. Som en del av visualteamet Deadpixel har koncept skapats åt klubbar och festivaler men också projekt som konstfilmer och installationer. Framför deadpixels visuella klubbkoncept har bl. a Özgur Can, Shiftee, Martin H, Tony Senghore, Style of eye, Joel Mull, Dada Life, Flux Pavilion, Datsik och många fler uppträtt.

 

THOMAS BJELKEBORN,

born in Sweden and studied composition at EMS

(Electro-Acoustic Music in Sweden) in Stockholm with Lars-Gunnar Bodin and Jan W Morthenson where he also has worked as assistant studiomanager.

 

In Sweden, Thomas Bjelkeborn is quite well known in modern music circles, and he has probably reached a wider audience than the average composer on account of his interactive installations in museums and some large-scale outdoor environmental musical projects. His music is characterised by border-crossing between different genres in encounters with other art forms. His works is performed all over the world and his electroacoustic piece Alpha Position U has been played at 14 important festivals in 8 countries since the first performance´in Krakow Poland in november 2007.

 

In year 2001 he founded the Institutet for Digital Arts, IDKA in Sweden and was the manager until 2006. Today he is International Relations Cordinator and board member at IDKA. During 2008-2010 he is composer-in-recidence at Musiques Inventives d’Annecy in France.

 

Thomas Bjelkeborn is very active on the European scene for laptop live-electronics playing wii controllers in the French-Swedish ensemble The Sound Quartet together with Philippe Moenne-Loccoz and he has toured to many countries with the noise act BNUNC.
