Hermosa in Autumn

Aspens at peak color and deep blue skies over Hermosa Cliffs, in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. This promontory rises to about 10,500 feet (3200 meters) of elevation, nearly 2,000 feet above the valley below. A rock-climbing destination not far from Durango, the cliffs can be seen from the aptly-named Million Dollar Highway, traveling north into the mountains.
