signs of spring: cherry blossoms - Explored (March 24)

Thanks so much for all your comments!

Shot for "Themes & Challenges: Signs of Spring"

The famous cherry trees of Washington, DC were a gift from the people of Tokyo in 1912, so this is their centennial year. The blossoms came awfully early this year. David and I rushed out there last Saturday for fear we'd miss them while we were in Florida this past week. I think we timed it just right (apart from the breeze, which made manual focus quite a challenge).

The parking we didn't time as well, or at least the bag of quarters we'd brought for the meter disappeared quickly at only seven minutes per quarter. Note to self: parking tickets in DC are pricey!
