Mr. Sikuka has been growing vegetables on his 1 hectare plot using irrigation in the dry season so that he can fetch a higher price for his crops. He has spent a lot of time looking for markets and has learned that a constant supply through the year is crucial if he wants access to these high paying buyers. His vision of the future includes working with his neighbours to help meet the demands of these buyers.
EWB has rented two pieces of ox-drawn equipment to assist him in earning extra money as well as expanding his farm. The $500 worth of capital includes a plough and a harrow which he will be able to purchase after just 4 months.
